You’ve got to spend money to make money, or so says one of the most overused pieces of commonly held wisdom. But what do you do if you haven’t the resources to reach your chosen ends ? Simple, use someone else’s. Now, individuals and financial institutions take a great deal of persuading to loosen the titanium purse strings, possibly no one was as persuasive as Malcolm Bricklin. The man’s brass wedding tackle and gargantuan chutzpah almost beggar belief. He pulled numbers out of thin air and fabricated unrealistic projections in a way that must’ve been practically hypnotizing to normally sage, hard headed bankers and businessmen. I ask you, would you lend  ???????? million dollars to an organization headed by a man who’d already defaulted on Subaru and the Canadian province of  New Brunswick ?

  1. I can look out my office window and see the former Bricklin plant. It seems that there are more Bricklins elsewhere in the world than right here where they were made.
